Selena Gomez - an international actress and performer - is a household name. She is the star of Disney program Wizards of Waverly Place is one of her most successful productions. Selena Marie Gomez has a full name. She was born on July 22, 1992, at Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett, and Ricardo Gomez are her parents. Selena's mom was 16 years old at the time she came into the world. Her first professional acting job as a showbiz actress at the age of 9 as she was Gianna in Barney and her Friends. So she was one of many children to have played with Barney, the famous Pink Dinosaur, an anthropomorphic dinosaur. Selena participated in a number of episodes of season 7 and 8 between 2001 and2003. Interesting fact: Demi Lovato, who was part of Barney's Friends in the same time period as well, worked alongside Selena. After the show ended, Selena Gomez auditioned for several roles on other shows and movies, but she was not very successful. She had a smaller role in Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) in 2003, and another part in the film as Julie on Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire. The role in the film of Emily Grace Garcia was assigned to her in 2006's Brain Zapped, for which she wrote music.
